WHAT DOES JOHNNY MATHIS & THE INFAMOUS BEANIE CAP HAVE IN COMMON
It is always a pleasure to speak to you all and even a lot of fun if time permits a full conversation. This occurs many times when donors are asked to be Judges or selling the Mother’s Day Raffle tickets or returning calls when there are questions. Such a call took place when I apologized for not getting back to Vince until the following day . I explained that I was tin the middle of cleaning out my parent’s home and was frankly overwhelmed. Some how we started talking about that day’s big project which was cleaning out the basement and hundreds of records. Vince asked if I had any Johnny Mathis records which I did.
A lunch was set up and I delivered a pile of records. I asked Vince to tell me some stories about “Nova when he was in school. He told me how his Father was a milkman and that he grew up in Upper Darby like my Father– 64th street. ( Vince claims that the best pizza is still at Pica’s -63rd Street . He has 4 children and 9 lovely Grandchildren and was incredibly proud of his youngest son Michael who is a Villanova Graduate and who was in the Navy ROTC Program and studied Engineering. He now works at NAVSEA in Virginia.
Vince started his own Data Center Design, Inc, a Pennsylvania company, in 1987 and is currently its President and principle owner. Vince is a graduate Electrical Engineer from Villanova University with 15 years with IBM as a Systems Engineer, Systems Engineering Manager, Data Center Manager, Education
Center Manager and Market Support Center Manager prior to leaving to go into the Data Center Design/Build business. Data Center Design, Inc. has a portfolio of Data Center projects from the smallest up through a 12,000 and a 14,000 Sq. Ft. facility that have a combined six multi-megawatt generators and nine 750 kVA to 1000 kVA Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS). Its customer base is in the greater Philadelphia Delaware Valley and immediate surrounding areas. Vince is incredibly busy but still has found time to be on the Villanova Engineering Entrepreneurship Board and support the Blue White Scholarship Foundation, but my favorite attribute is that he sent me a picture of a “Beanie Cap. I had only seen a “Beanie” in the movie Animal House and thought it was a made up prop. Now how about a Toga Party ?
